HAMPTON BEACH, NEW HAMSHIRE (GaeaTimes.com)- A fire at Hampton beach blazed aggressively on Thursday midnight and Friday, which gave the residents of the region sufficient cause to worry. The fire started at the Surf Hotel, as per the available news. It scorched 5 structures adjacent to the hotel. Reportedly, the fire broke out a little after midnight. Unfortunately, wind was blowing at around 60 miles per hour helped the fire in spreading and becoming more powerful. The firefighters tried to douse the flames but it was too strong. Even hours after fighting with it, they could not extinguish it properly.
The Hampton Beach fire is said to have caused damages worth a million dollars. However, no human casualty has been reported so far. A hurricane was blowing in the area when the fire broke out. As one can expect, it worsened the situation. The eyewitnesses said that the flames reached great heights and they could see it from far away places. The wind made the fire spread away in various directions which made the job of the firefighters tougher. Massachusetts and Maine fire departments were approached to help in tackling the fire. The storm that was lashing the area caused electricity outage but that was good in a way since it prevented short circuit in the region.
Chris Silver, the Hampton fire Chief admitted that the fire proved to be too strong for his crew who had to fight for 5 hours before it could be tamed. He also said that it was a miracle that the terrible fire did not cause injury to anyone in the beach region.
