Youth run over by car in Gurgaon

GURGAON - A youth was killed after being hit by a car on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road Thursday morning, police said. The occupants of the car were also injured as it overturned after the accident.

The occupants of the car abandoned the vehicle and fled in another car after the accident.

“They left the WagonR car at the spot and we managed to trace the owner and arrest him. He has been identified as Alamgeer, 45, and he claimed that he lost control,” a senior police officer said.

“The car was coming from Delhi and there were two women passengers. Both the women were also injured as the car overturned after hitting the boy,” the officer added.

The victim, identified as Ram Babu, was the son of a street vendor. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

A case has been registered at the sector 29 police station.
