Earthquake In Chicago, Illinois Cause Concern

CHICAGO (GaeaTimes.com)- Though it is the second week of February, people are experiencing several disturbances for the winter weather. While snowfall and winter storm is leading to inconveniences, earthquake in Chicago and other places of Illinois made people worried on Wednesday early morning. It has been reported that a 3.8 magnitude earthquake, which recorded its epicenter somewhere in the northwest side of Chicago had shaken people located in places as far as Missouri and Ohio.

While the Chicago earthquake had recorded a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter Scale, some other places in Illinois experienced stronger earthquake jolts where the magnitude was 4.3. According to some people in Illinois, this place does not face frequent earthquake tremors and so they were quite panicked when the quake hit the place. As it was early morning, most of the people were resting in home and none of them had reported of any major accidents after the quake.

The reports of the Chicago, Illinois earthquake do not indicate about any significant damage or injury followed by the quake. It has been reported that most of the people, who informed about the earthquake shared their traumatized experience in the early morning. None of them had reported of death or injury in their neighborhood. People who were shocked after witnessing the disaster in Haiti feared such a disaster in their region but none of them notified about any damage of their property. Experts indicate that the earthquake that rocked Chicago and different parts of the state Illinois should not be compared to the deadly quake of Haiti, that claimed thousands of lives.
