WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The sorry plight of the residents of Washington continues as the severe snowstorm that plagued the region a few days back shows no sign of receding. The severe blizzard compelled the US Federal government to remain closed for Tuesday. The snowstorm is quite severe and weather experts are of the opinion that a similar storm has not hit the place in recent years. The fate of the residents of Washington is not likely to improve in the coming days. The snowstorm that has made a mess of the place will be followed by another blizzard. Its successor will be less severe according to the weather experts but it will cause damages.
If the inclement weather does not improve, the federal government may be forced to keep its offices closed till Friday. Tuesday proved to be as bleak as Monday, with lots of government buildings keeping the doors shut. The tourists who got stranded in the place are the worst sufferers. The various buildings that are visited by lots of tourists each day continue to remain closed. The area is witnessing massive snowfall and the roads have turned slippery as a consequence. This is not suitable for driving as accidents are likely to happen. Only the essential services employees are supposed to attend their offices on Tuesday, as it has been reported.
The residents in the area are having a tough time in keeping their cars and houses safe. The driveways are the most affected places. While the federal government offices remain closed on Tuesday, the kids are having a gala time as their schools remain closed too.
