16 get life term for murder

HOWRAH - Sixteen men, including four members of West Bengal’s ruling Left Front major Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), were sentenced to life by a local court here Friday for lynching a man in 2000.
Nineteen were accused in the case. Of the remaining three, two were sent to juvenile court, while another was acquitted by the Amta fast court judge Samiran Dutta.
The four CPI-M men convicted are Rezzak Mollah, Hasan-ur-Mollah, S.K. Nizam Mollah and Akram Ali Hajra.
They were accused of having killed Md Mukim of Senapara village in Howrah district in March 2000.
