Four held for dacoity

NEW DELHI - Four people have been arrested in east Delhi for dacoities, police said Saturday.

Mohammad Waseem, 26, Shahid, 27, Mohammad Nashir, 24, and Parmod Kumar, 24, were arrested Friday from I.P. Extension area.

“We got a tip-off that Waseem, who had a committed a dacoity in Mandawali in October last year will come along with his associates to I.P. Extension near a car show room for committing a crime,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) I.B. Rani.

The police laid a trap and arrested Waseem and Parmod Kumar. Nasheer and Shahid were also arrested later.

“They had allegedly committed a dacoity on Nov 28 and taken away Rs.4.5 lakh cash and jewellery after taking a woman hostage at gunpoint,” said Rani.
