NEW YORK - A Delta airliner bound for Moscow made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport Sunday after the pilot reported engine trouble, according to CNN.

There were an estimated 193 passengers on board.

More than 100 firefighters and rescue workers rushed to the airport amid conflicting reports of either a fire or engine trouble, the New York Times reported.

There was, however, no fire on the plane, officials later confirmed.
