CHANDIGARH - The senior manager of a nationalised bank was robbed of his car and mobile by gun-wielding youths in Chandigarh’s Sector 8, one of the busiest stretches of this union territory, police said Saturday.
According to police, the victim was identified as Gyan Chand Kaushik, 55, who worked as senior manager at the State Bank of India branch in Sector 17.
Kaushik was returning Friday night to his home, in Sector 10, Panchkula (around 10 km from here), in his Swift Dezire car. He parked his car on the roadside to attend a phone call. Four youths were already following him in a Santro car and they also stopped their vehicle on the roadside, said a police official.

Senior officials of Chandigarh police said they would nab the accused, who were in their early twenties, very soon.
