ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has released a total of 562 Indian nationals from the country’s prisons since 2009, a federal minister told the national assembly.

However, only 157 Pakistani prisoners have been released from Indian jails since 2009, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Malik Imad Khan said Friday, according to Online news agency.

The minister also accused India of not providing assistance to Pakistani prisoners within three months of their arrest, in accordance with an agreement signed May 21, 2008, in Islamabad.

India is not fulfilling the agreement and delaying tactics are being used, Khan said.
