Man shot dead inside train

LUCKNOW - Gunmen shot dead a man and left his son critically injured inside an air-conditioned coach of a train in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district Monday, police said.
The incident took place in the AC three tier coach of the Chauri Chaura Express when two men barged in and started firing at Ram Singh and his son Yashpal.
While Singh died on the spot, Yashpal is battling for life in a hospital.
“The assailants boarded the train as it stopped at the Indira junction,” Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Jitendra Kumar told reporters in Mau, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“The assailants got off the train before security personnel could reach the spot. In the process, a revolver of one of the assailants fell inside the train,” he added.
Police are yet to trace the killers and establish the motive behind the crime.
Ram Singh and Yashpal boarded the train from Gorakhpur district. They weer going to Allahabad.
