Reward for absconding Samajwadi Party legislator

LUCKNOW - The Uttar Pradesh Police Monday announced a reward of Rs.15,000 for the capture of a Samajwadi Party legislator Vijay Misra, wanted in connection with the murder attempt on state Institutional Finance Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’.

Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal told media persons here that the legislator has been absconding for the past several months, therefore, it has been decided to announce a cash reward on him. “This may be further enhanced over a period of time,” he added

The minister was seriously injured in a bomb blast July 12 in the Mutthiganj area of his hometown Allahabad, about 200 km from here. Triggered by a remote device, the blast occurred as Nandi stepped out of his home and was walking down to a temple in the vicinity.

Two persons, including a correspondent of the Indian Express died in the blast.
