LUCKNOW - The principal of a private school here has been booked in connection with the death of a girl student whom he allegedly refused permission to go home in spite of her being ill, police said Friday.
Thirteen-year-old Arundhati Vaish, a Class 7 student of the St. Paul School, in the cantonment area, died Thursday in a hospital.
Arundhati’s parents alleged that principal Iliyas Fedricks did not allow her to go home Oct 6, despite her being ill. Her condition deteriorated by the time the school was closed, they said.
“The principal is responsible for the death of my child and strict action should be taken against him,” said her father Sandeep Vaish, a resident of the Sadar Bazar here.
A case has been registered.
“The enquiry is still on. A case under section 304 A (causing death by negligence) has been registered against the principal on the complaint filed by the girl’s parents. Its yet to be probed whether the principal is guilty or not,” police inspector Kuldip Kumar told IANS.
