71 challans issued for Games lanes violations

NEW DELHI - Delhi Traffic Police Wednesday slapped 71 challans against vehicles entering the lanes reserved for the Commonwealth Games vehicles, police said.

Also, six notices were sent to vehicles violating the Games lane restrictions. “One vehicle has been impounded,” a police officer said.

The traffic police have issued a total of 2,139 challans since the exclusive lanes came into effect Sep 23. A total of 315 notices have been issued and 29 vehicles have been impounded.

The restrictions will continue till Oct 16. The violators are imposed a fine of Rs.2,000.
