4 CISF men suspended for security breach in airport

MUMBAI - Four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were suspended for breach of security when a private taxi entered the restricted area of the Mumbai airport here Thursday, officials said.

The taxi, driven by Manisha Pawar, entered the restricted area from gate no. 5 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at the Sahar international terminal.

A catering truck which entered the gate after the cab alerted the security staff.

Immediately, the officials of airport security alerted the CISF which immediately intercepted the vehicle and took away the driver for questioning.

The driver claimed that she got a telephone call asking for a taxi at the domestic wing of the airport, which is on the Santacruz side of the airport premises.

Later, the CISF handed over the driver to the airport police and the vehicle has been impounded, the officials said.
