Two cop kids commit suicide in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD - The daughter and son of two Uttar Pradesh police officials committed suicide in two separate incidents and an electrician killed himself by hanging from a ceiling fan in Ghaziabad, police said Wednesday.

All three incidents took place Monday and the bodies of the victims were recovered Tuesday, police said.

In the first incident, a married daughter of a senior police officer committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her bedroom in Abhay Khand, Indirapuram.

Suchita Singh (24) married Ajit Singh Dec 12, 2008. She is the daughter of Deputy Superintendent of Police J.N. Singh, posted in Agra.

The incident came to light Tuesday morning when her bedroom was forced open. Both the families are silent on the mysterious death. The police have seized the dead body and have sent it for postmortem, said Superintendent of Police (City) A.K. Vijaita.

In the second incident, call centre employee Dharmendra (26), son of a police sub-inspector, committed suicide by consuming poison in Pratap Vihar after the girl be loved got engaged to another man.

He was working with a call centre in Noida. His father, Mahesh Chand, is posted at Dadri town of Greater Noida.

In the third incident, electrician Naresh (25) was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the basement of Aditya Shopping Mall. The area falls under Indirapuram police station of Ghaziabad.

“It seems a case of suicide. We have sent the body for postmortem, said a police official.
