Chain snatchers kill woman

GREATER NOIDA - A woman who grappled with a chain snatcher was shot dead by his accomplice in this township.

Police said Asha Pandey, 50, wife of a manager working in a container depot, was returning home from a temple Monday night when two criminals on a motorcycle tried to pull the chain from her neck.

Acting swiftly, the woman caught hold of the criminals hand. As he struggled to free himself, his accomplice pulled out a pistol and fired at the woman, killing her instantly. The killers escaped.
