GHAZIABAD - Two teenaged sisters and two others in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district were taken in custody Saturday for kidnapping their uncle’s three-year-old boy for ransom, police said.

The two sisters, aged 17 and 18, abducted the boy from his home in Rafiqpura area, police said.

Firdaus’ boyfriend Abdul Qadir and Anisa’s husband Akram were also roped in by the duo for the crime. Qadir and Akram were also arrested, police said.

“One of the girls, resident of Garima Garden in Sahibabad, had Sep 29 gone to Rafiqpura to meet her maternal uncle, Ziauddin. There she hit upon the idea of kidnapping her uncle’s son, Anis,” district police chief Raghubir Lal said.

Anis was abducted and first kept at Akram’s home in Seemapuri in Delhi. Later, he was shifted to the other sister’s Garima Garden home.

Ziauddin, a construction contractor, was contacted on phone by the abductors who demanded Rs.3 lakh for the boy’s release.

On receiving a complaint, police tracked down Qadir by his phone which was used to make the ransom call and Anis was rescued.
