NEW DELHI - With barely five days to go for the Commonwealth Games, the capital Tuesday witnessed three road cave-ins, police said.

The first incident was reported from near the Moti Bagh flyover on Rao Tula Ram Marg while the second took place in Seelampur.

In the third incident, the front wheel of a Reserve Bank of India cash van got stuck in an open manhole when a road caved in near Sisganj gurudwara in Chandni Chowk.

“The van was towed away. The cash was secure in the locker of the van,” a police officer said.

Delhi has witnessed several such incidents of roads caving in recently. A portion of road measuring around 20 feet between Nirman Vihar and Shastri Vihar on the busy Vikas Marg collapsed Friday while another stretch from ITO towards Karkari More caved in Saturday. Another such incident was reported from Kasturba Gandhi Marg near Connaught Place Sunday.
