LUCKNOW - A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district has alleged that her 12-year-old daughter died after being raped in her school Monday, police said.
The mother, a resident of Roshan Nagar in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow, alleged that her daughter, a student of Class 6 of Bharatiya Gyan Sthali School, was raped in the school and died on her way to hospital.
“I received a call from the school officials saying that my daughter was not well. After some time, women employees of the school left my daughter at the residence. At that time she was bleeding profusely,” the mother told reporters in Kanpur.
According to her, when her daughter was brought home she was not wearing the school uniform and was in other clothes.
“Before I could ask anything about the condition of my daughter, the employees told me there’s no need to worry and that the school bag would soon be brought home,” she said.
When contacted, Superintendent Of Police (rural) Lal Bahadur, told IANS, “As of now, I can only say that an enquiry has been initiated.” He declined to make any more comments about the case.
According to sources, police have sealed the school building where the girl’s mother alleged the incident took place.
