KHARTOUM - At least 13 people were killed and 29 injured in clashes between two tribal communities in Sudan, authorities said Monday.

“Thirteen people were killed and 29 others were injured in clashes between Sada and Rezaigat tribes in South Darfur state,” Ibrahim Jibril, a member of the legislative council, was quoted as saying by Chinese news agency Xinhua.

Jibril expressed regret over the bloody events and urged both the communities to find peaceful solutions to their problem.

In May, armed clashes have claimed lives of tens of the two tribes’ members at Kas area, west of Nyala, capital of the South Darfur state.
