11 dead in bus crash near Berlin

BERLIN - At least 11 people were killed and 30 injured in a bus crash on the outskirts of Berlin Sunday, police said.

The Polish passenger bus, which had set off from Spain, was travelling towards the Polish border when it swerved to avoid a car, police said.

At least 30 people were injured in the crash, of whom 16 suffered serious injuries.

Daily Berliner Kurier reported that most of the 47 people on the bus were teenagers.
