T20 betting racket busted in Haryana

ROHTAK - The Haryana police have busted a cricket betting racket here and arrested two people, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

He said that following a tip-off, police raided a house in Guru Nanak Pura locality in Rohtak town and caught two people red handed as they were betting on the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 matches in South Africa.

They were identified as Sunny Kumar and Sukhdev of Rohtak.

A case under the Gambling Act has been registered against them at the City police station, Rohtak.

A television, Rs.12,670 in cash, a laptop and seven mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

The police official said they were trying to find out whether other people were involved with the duo.
