Maoist carrying Rs.2 lakh reward arrested

BOKARO - A Maoist guerrilla, a key accused in a legislator’s murder who carried a Rs.2 lakh reward on his head, was arrested in this steel city Wednesday, police said.

“Ramesh Mandal alias Shakin Da, one of the accused in the murder of Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist (CPI-ML) legislator Mahendra Yadav, was arrested from Tilayia village under Lalpania police station,” Bokaro Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar told IANS.

He said: “He was staying in the village for the last two years in name of Deepak Soren”.

CPI-ML legislator Mahendra Yadava was killed by Maoists in January 2005.
