NEW DELHI - Mohammad Salim, the brave rickshaw puller in Sunday’s Jama Masjid shooting incident in which two Taiwanese tourists were injured, was Wednesday rewarded for his heroics, yet again.

Zakat Foundation of India (ZFI), a Delhi-based charity organisation, awarded a cheque of Rs.50,000 to Mohammad and assured to take care of his family.

“We will treat Salim’s wife Shabana, who is a TB patient, and we can also accommodate the two children in one of ZFI’s children’s houses,” said ZFI President Syed Zafar Mehmood.

The Delhi Police Tuesday had announced a cash award of Rs.25,000 for Saleem who along with a police constable Pramod had pursued the assailants in a bid to catch them.
