NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Metro-North railroad has been suspended on the Hudson, Harlem and New Heaven lines due to a fire on the 138th Street Bridge over the Harlem river.
The fire under the bridge was first reported at around 11.45 am today. Initial reports suggests that the fire has been caused by the explosion of a transformer adjacent to the tracks. Although officials are not sure to what extent the fire has caused damage to the bridge, they are not taking any risks. They have asked people to take the subway system’s D train or 4 train to 161st Street, then walk west to the Yankees E. 153 Street station
