Car bomb kills 12 in western Baghdad

BAGHDAD — An Iraqi army official says 12 people were killed when a car bomb exploded near the offices of a mobile phone company in western Baghdad.

Army Brig. Gen. Ali Fathal, who is responsible for security in the western Baghdad area, told The Associated Press that 10 people were also wounded in the attack.

The blast took place outside a mobile phone office but it was not clear if the office was the target.
