Tremors felt in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA - Tremors were felt in several parts of Himachal Pradesh early Saturday after an earthquake hit the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, the weather office here said.

The quake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit the region at 12.51 a.m.

However, there are no reports of any loss of life or damage to property in Himachal Pradesh.

“Mild tremors were felt in several parts of north India due to its proximity to Afghanistan,” meteorological office director Manmohan Singh told IANS.
