GHAZIABAD - Two unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers looted over Rs.7 lakh from an accountant of a steel trading company in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred outside a house in Nehru Nagar under Sihani Gate police station of Ghaziabad city.

Vijay Chauhan, an accountant of Allied Steels Private Limited, withdrew Rs.7.28 lakh from the Ambedkar Road branch of Axis Bank in the afternoon.

At about 2 p.m., when the accountant stepped out of his car outside the residence of company owner Sandeep Gupta in Nehru Nagar-II neighbourhood, two robbers on a motorcycle came and snatched the bag from him, police said.

“We have registered the case and a team has been constituted to nab the criminals,” said police Circle Officer Preveen Ranjan Singh.
