ALAPPUZHA - Angered at the taunts of superstitious people, a father killed his two-month-old son here under the influence of alcohol, police said Saturday.

“The father, Madhu (33), was teased by his friends because his son was born with two teeth. His friends said this is bad luck. Unable to bear the taunts, Madhu committed the crime Thursday,” Punnapara police sub-inspector M.K. Rajesh told IANS.

Madhu has been arrested and he has confessed to the crime.

“He threw the kid on the floor. The mother, Smitha was not at home at that time. When she arrived, the boy was rushed to a local hospital. But the kid passed away Friday morning. The doctors informed us about the incident and Madhu was arrested yesterday (Friday) night,” said Rajesh.
