Man tries to kill himself after wife refuses to wash clothes

BEIJING - A man in China, who tried to commit suicide after his wife refused to wash his clothes, said: “I’m upset that I married the wrong woman”.

The man, surnamed Li, announced that he was going to a river to end his life after a squabble with his wife over his dirty laundry. The incident took place in Jiangxi province, China Daily Monday quoted Jiangnan City Daily as reporting.

Li’s son called up the police.

Police officials managed to prevent Li from taking the extreme step.

Li told the police that he decided to end his life as his wife refused to wash his clothes.

“I’m upset that I married the wrong woman. We haven’t spoken nicely to each other in years,” he lamented.
