GANDHINAGAR - The additional sessions judge, Ahmedabad, A.S. Shah Friday issued notices to the Gujarat and Delhi governments following fears of a staged shootout killing voiced by a kin of an Ahmedabad railway station bomb blast accused.
Iliyas Pathan, lawyer of 2007 Ahmedabad railway station bomb blast accused Mohammed Aslam alias Aslam Kashmiri, Friday filed an application expressing fears of an alleged staged shoot-out killing while in transit.
Pathan told the court that his client who figures in two cases in Ahmedabad and one in Delhi has not been brought before the court on the last three hearings. When the relatives of Aslam enquired with the Tihar jail authorities in Delhi they were told that he is in Sabarmati jail, and the Sabarmati jail authorities told them that he is in Tihar. “We fear the worst and therefore seek the court’s intervention,” the plea stated.
Judge Shah thereafter issued notices to the two state governments, the Tihar and Sabarmati jail authorities and the investigating officer of the case, returnable Sep 15.
