CHANDIGARH - Four prisoners were injured, two of them seriously, when a clash broke out between them in Punjab’s Bathinda town Wednesday, police said.

The clash occurred when the prisoners were being taken by a police escort for a local court hearing from the Bathinda jail.

“Two of the prisoners are seriously injured and have been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. The other two were also given medical attention,” a police official said.

He said investigations into the clash were in progress.
