LUCKNOW - A Class 11 student was stabbed to death on the campus of his school by three unidentified assailants in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district Monday, police said.

Shobit Kumar was stabbed several times in the National Inter College. He died on way to hospital, police said.

“We are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime and establish the identity of the three assailants, who had their faces covered while committing the crime,” Superintendent of Police (Rural) Raju Babu told reporters in Muzaffarnagar, some 350 km from Lucknow.

According to witnesses, the three miscreants stabbed Shobit one by one and managed to escape on a motorcycle, which they had parked outside the school.

“Teams have been constituted to nab the miscreants. We believe that other than the three men, more people could be involved in the murder,” said Babu.
