Rain Worsened the Post Flood Situation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (GaeaTimes.com) — Another session of monsoon rain has splashed on the upper region of Pakistan only to worsen the condition of the flood-affected nation. A heavy rainfall that started on Thursday add to the pathetic condition of the distressed people still fighting with the aftermath of the horrible flood.
According to Marcus Prior of the World Food Programme, 40 additional helicopters are needed to work full fledgedly and reach the flood affected area with food and relief. Reportedly, US will send four helicopters along with calamity support team to help Pakistan fight the adverse situation.
2.5 million people in the flood- affected area have now access to clean water, while 3.5 million are still deprived of pure drinking water and thus thriving with contaminated water for their daily usage, UNICEF reports. UN said that, 3.2 million people have been attended with medicine.
The devastating flood has already washed away many roads and bridges while snatching lives of thousands. The most affected areas are hilly regions of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistani-administered Kashmir, and in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Pakistan flood has forced almost 4 million people to become homeless. 17 million people are still battling to get back to their normal life. Bur today’s rain has just worsened the situation.
