Under-construction building crashes, two killed

NAVI MUMBAI - Two people were killed and four injured when an under-construction building crashed in Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra’s Thane district early Wednesday, an official said.
According to Navi Mumbai Chief Fire Officer V.S. Rane, the building crashed around 2 a.m. catching the victims in their sleep.
“Two people, both believed to be labourers, have been killed in the tragedy. We are investigating the cause of the incident,” Rane said.
The identity and other background details of the victims were being ascertained.
Meanwhile, a police official said around four people, who were rescued from the debris, have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
This is the first major building crash in Navi Mumbai area, close to the state capital Mumbai, during the current monsoon, but the fifth in the entire Thane region in the past one month.
