ISLAMABAD - Two terrorists have been arrested in Pakistan in connection with the killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Raza Haider, police said.

Raza, a member of Sindh province’s legislative assembly, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen Aug 2 in a mosque in North Nazimabad area of Karachi.

The target killing of the politician had triggered widespread violence in the Pakistani port city, in which more than 102 people lost their lives.

The arrested terrorists, allegedly belonging to the banned militant outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, were Thursday presented before the court which remanded them in police custody for investigation till Aug 26.

Earlier, Sindh province inspector general of police Salahuddin Babar Khttak said that the two terrorists were involved in eleven cases of murder.
