Fire destroys property in Punjab town

MOHALI - Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed Tuesday when a fire enveloped a multi-storey building in Mohali city in Punjab, police said. No casualty was reported.

Twelve fire engines took over four hours to put out the blaze, police officer Kulbhushan Singh told IANS. An electrical short-circuit is believed to have caused the fire.

Mohali town is around 10 km from Chandigarh.
