LUCKNOW - Four members of a family, including three minors, were killed and two others injured by unidentified assailants in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district Friday, police said.
Babulal, 40, and his three children - two daughters and a son aged between five-seven years - were murdered inside their residence in Devki colony, some 250 km from here. Babulal’s wife Madhu, 35, and his eldest son were found lying injured in a corner of the house.
“It appears all the six were attacked with sharp-edged weapons, following which four family members died. Two family members, who survived despite serious injuries, are being treated in a hospital where their condition is critical,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Anurag Darshan told reporters in Firozabad.
“We are yet to ascertain the motive behind the killings. Efforts are on to nab those involved. Teams have been constituted in this regard,” he added.
Some relatives went to meet Babulal at his residence and found him murdered along with his three children in a room. Later, the relatives informed the police.
