BEIJING - Eleven people were killed in a train derailment at a railway construction site in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Friday, authorities said.
The accident happened when a train carrying stones, which are used to pave the railroad, derailed at the construction site, Xinhua reported. The new 85-km line is to link Inner Mongolia’s Baotou to Mandalt, a border town neighbouring Mongolia.
One person was severely injured in the accident and rushed to a hospital.
