Man held for killing minor child

NEW DELHI - A man has been arrested for throwing acid and killing his two-and-half-year-old child in north Delhi in June, police said Monday.

“The man identified as Mohammad Ahmed Hussain was arrested from Ahmedabad Monday,” police said.

On June 24, Ahmed attacked his ex-wife and kids with acid after his second wife went missing. “In the acid attack, five persons were injured out of which his two-and-half-year-old son Gulab succumbed to injuries,” said police.

Thereafter, the accused escaped to Ahmedabad where he started a small business of embroidery. “Earlier he was doing the same business in Delhi,” police said.

Before the incident, he was living in a rented house with his second wife at Bharat Nagar in north Delhi, police said.
