Rep. Luetkemeyer’s daughter-in-law killed in crash
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The 27-year-old daughter-in-law of Missouri Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer has died in a car accident in central Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Amy Luetkemeyer died Friday after an accident in Maries County.
The congressman’s spokesman Paul Sloca says Amy Luetkemeyer married the congressman’s son, Trevor, in October 2009.
The highway patrol says her car crossed the center line, sideswiped an oncoming vehicle and then went off the road. The vehicle then overcorrected and hit another one. The patrol says Amy Luetkemeyer was wearing a seatbelt.
Sloca says it’s a very difficult time for the family, but members appreciate the support they’ve received.
Luetkemeyer represents the 9th District, which stretches from Columbia to the western edge of the St. Louis metro area.
