TUCSON (GaeaTimes.com)- All three people aboard in a medical helicopter that crashed on the north side of Tucson, Arizona have died. The helicopter that was owned by the Colorado-based Air Methods was carrying no patients at the time of the crash. However, the crash has led to the death of a flight nurse and a paramedic along with the pilot. The news of the death of the three people was confirmed by the officials of Air Methods, who said that the names of the dead people will be released earliest by Thursday.

The eye witnesses at the Tucson area have reported that the helicopter crashed into a fence in front of a house south of Glenn Street at Park Avenue. According to them, the pilot of the AS350 B3 Eurocopter had steered the burning helicopter away from the Park Avenue house avoiding a much bigger tragedy. One witness named Ricardo Carrasco said to media sources that he saw the plane plummeting to the ground after the rotors stopped working. Ricardo Carrasco added that he had rushed to assist after the crash but was unable to get close to the helicopter that turned into a “wall of flames”. He along with other bystanders volunteered to evacuate homes in the neighboring area.

The officials of the Federal Aviation Administration said that the helicopter was traveling from Marana to Douglas when the accident took place at Tucson. It also added that the pilot of the plane was in contact with the air traffic controllers and there was no apparent trouble with the flight. The Federal Aviation Administration will carry out investigation into the case along with the National Transportation Safety Board. The FAA will be sending inspectors to the crash site.
