Railway employee held for raping minor

LUCKNOW - A railway employee was arrested here on charges of raping a three-year-old girl Tuesday, police said.

Vishnu Dayal (28) allegedly raped the three-year-old daughter of his tenant while she was alone in the house in the Ashiana locality.

“The victim, who is the daughter of an autorikshaw driver, is being treated at a hospital, where her condition is stated to be critical,” police Inspector Ramesh Chandra told reporters here Tuesday.

According to police, after hearing the shrieks of the three-year-old girl her neighbours rushed to the house and found that girl was lying in a corner of the room, bleeding profusely.

“As we received the information, we rushed to the spot and arrested Vishnu Dayal on the basis of preliminary investigations,” said Chandra.

Vishnu, a class 4 employee of railways, has confessed to the crime, he added.
