KUALA LUMPUR - A Malaysian court sentenced two men to death by hanging for murdering a businessman over a debt of 150 ringgits ($46), a news report said Monday.

Judge Abdul Halim Aman said the two men “did not show sympathy” towards the victim, who was stabbed and slashed to death four years ago over what was his younger brother’s debt.

“There is only one conclusion. Your act is by someone uncivilised,” the judge was quoted as saying by the Star newspaper.

Defence lawyers said they would appeal the sentencing.

The duo had committed the offence with five other suspects whom police have still failed to apprehend, the report said.
