GANDHINAGAR - Former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, who was arrested here after being charged with the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a staged shootout, was Sunday sent to 14 days judicial custody.

“Amit Shah has been sent to a 14 day judicial custody,” an official source said.

He was produced at the residence of CBI judge A.Y. Dave, who remanded him to judicial custody, the source added.

The former minister of state for home is being taken to the Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad where all the other 15 accused in the Sohrabuddin case have been lodged, the source said.

Shah was missing since Thursday and dramatically surfaced at a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) press conference earlier in the day in Ahmedabad, about 35 km from Gandhinagar.
