Australian kills prostitute, has sex with body

SYDNEY - A schizophrenic Australian man stabbed a prostitute to death and then had sex with her body, a court heard Friday.
Malcolm Robert Potts, 42, was sentenced to 21 years in prison by the New South Wales Supreme Court for the murder of Emma King in Ashfield town, nine kilometres from Sydney, in September 2008, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Potts told the jury he had arranged for King to come to his place for sex after agreeing on a price Sep 14, 2008.
When King arrived, he was reluctant and told her he did not wish to proceed. But she phoned her friends and told him: “You either produce the money or we’re taking your stuff.”
Potts was much larger than King. She felt threatened and picked up a knife from among many weapons - tomahawks, swords, knives, sticks - which were stacked in a corner. Potts, however, overpowered and disarmed his much smaller victim, the court heard.
“While she was face down, and pinned to the floor by his considerable body weight, he stabbed her twice in the back. She having died, he then undressed her and had sexual intercourse with her,” Justice David Kirby said.
Potts had been jailed earlier in 2001 for the frenzied stabbing of his father for not buying a worthwhile birthday present. He was not found guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter of Keith Potts, 67, in May 2000. He was released in May 2007.
