26 missing after bus falls into China river

BEIJING - At least 26 people were missing after a bus in which they were riding plunged into a river in southwest China’s Sichuan province Sunday, authorities said.

The emergency response centre with Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture said that 12 passengers were injured in the accident, which took place at 10.15 a.m. when the bus was heading towards Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan, from Aba’s Maerkang County.

According to Xinhua, the bus, registered in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, crashed into the Dajin River in Rongchag County. The bus was carrying 38 passengers, including three children.
