23-year-old woman shot dead in Gurgaon

GURGAON - A 23-year-old newly-wed woman was Sunday shot dead at her house in Gurgaon, a satellite town of the national capital but police said it could be a case of suicide.

The victim, identified as Ruchi, was undergoing training with a private airline.

“Initial investigation suggests that it’s a suicide, but we are probing the case from the murder angle also. We are questioning her husband Gaurav Chauhan, who has a criminal background. We have sent the body for post mortem-examination,” said Ved Prakash, Gurgaon deputy commissioner of police.

Officials said that the incident took place at 11 a.m. at her Acharya Puri residence.

According to doctors, she shot herself dead in the head from a close range.
