LUCKNOW - RDX was mixed with petrol to provide the lethal explosive for carrying out a sensational blast in Allahabad which left one dead and five, including an Uttar Pradesh minister, badly injured, police said here Friday.
“The forensic report has confirmed use of RDX that got reinforced with a tankful of petrol in the scooty on which the bomb was planted,” state Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal told mediapersons here.
“Significantly, such a mix of RDX and automobile fuel was never found to have been used in other explosions that have taken place in the state over the past,” he said.
“Our forensic experts have also been able to get both the chasis and engine number of the scooty. This will now enable us to reach the owner of the vehicle from there we could get more leads,” Lal added.
A 45-year-old man was killed and state Minister for Finance (Stamps and Registrations) Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nandi was critically injured in the bomb blast which took place Monday afternoon near the minister’s house in Mutthiganj locality of Allahabad.
