BEIJING - Over 200 police officers were assaulted while on duty in Beijing in 2010, and most of the attackers were “jobless and undereducated” people.

Around 89 percent of the attackers were male, and 60 percent belonged to places outside Beijing, Xinhua reported citing a Public Security Bureau statement.

Beijing police authorities are compiling a list of new regulations to help protect police officers while on duty.
